Start and end in Tahiti! With the Adventure tour Discover Tahiti, you have a 10 days tour package taking you through Tahiti, French Polynesia and Moorea Island,

Day 01: Arrival In Papeete
The excitement, the anticipation, the slight anxiety over the trip can finally end. Today your tour to one of the most exclusive, most remote, and most beautiful places in the world, Tahiti, begins. When you arrive in Papeete, one of our maverick tour guides will collect you from the airport and escort you to the nearby hotel, where you can shower, put the jet-leg to bed, and ready yourself for the adventure. (please note, check-in is from 2pm and today is a free day)

Day 02: Papeete
Our day begins with a bit of a formality. We’ll sit you down and explain the entire tour—what we do, what we expect, how you can have a kick-ass time with Bamboo. We’ll also ease any anxieties you may have about being here—we get it, it’s an isolated island. Once through the orientation, we’ll head into the city to the “Cultural Centre” or “Maison De La Culture” in Papara. There, we’ll spend some time learning about Polynesian life, from the local cooking and crafts to the dances and tattoos. It’s basically your insightful introduction to the country, and, better yet, the organization directly supports educational opportunities for young Polynesians—you’re giving back already. Once through and fully “cultured,” we’ll make a pitstop at the Water Garden, a lawn so spectacular we’ve even lost a breath or two. From there, we’ll head back to the hotel and get ready for the night’s meet-and-greet dinner at the famous Royal Tahitian—flower crowns aren’t required but definitely encouraged. There, you can meet the other travelers, dine on Tahitian favorites, and, if the cards are right, maybe take a late-night dip in the sea.

Day 03: Papeete – Haapiti
How bad can a morning be if it begins with riding the waves to your second paradise in two days? After a much-needed breakfast (coffee cures all, right?), we’ll pack the bags and board the boat to the island of Moorea. For those who don’t know “Moorea” is the only correct answer to the question, “Where is paradise?,” as you’ll soon find out. Upon arrival, we’ll amble to our beach bungalows and briefly entertain the idea of ditching the tour altogether and instead opt for a life on the island forever. Once realizing that idea’s flawed (it may take a few hours…or days), the journey to Haapiti begins. Largely known as a surf capital, Haapiti’s lagoons also cater to some of the most wild and exotic lives on Tahiti. It’s a place where, if you’re brave enough, you can swim with sharks and stingrays. Those looking for lighter, less-adrenaline-inducing entertainment can instead watch for dolphins (if the tides are right) and whales. Just another casual day in Haapiti.

Day 04: Haapiti
Still enchanted with Haapiti’s charm, today will involve a bit more work and less play. We’ve carefully selected a local NGO responsible for maintaining the conservation, education, and research of the region’s infamous lagoon. The organization will introduce you to reef and pollution issues in addition to the problems currently facing the region’s sea turtle population. It’ll be the basis for our volunteering excursion in Haapiti, so listen up. Following the interactive introduction, you’ll have the afternoon and evening to yourself, which can easily be filled with swimming, exploring, endlessly reapplying sunscreen, getting mesmerized by the sparkling seas, or, like any member of the BamFam, psyching yourself up for tomorrow’s work.

Day 05: Haapiti
Rest up this morning because today the difference-making begins. The NGO will have us cutting and preserving coral reefs, cleaning the island’s beach fronts, and teaching local children the importance of sustainability and environmentalism. It’s a long day in the heat, so, at sundown, we’ve arranged for a proper Happy Hour and barbecue to satiate the appetites worked up throughout the day. Be prepared for a sunset that we can only describe using cheesy clichés, so we’ll just say, “it’s darn beautiful.”

Day 06: Haapiti – Fare Hape
Today we are all heading back to the island of Tahiti and taking a trip to one of French Polynesia’s most sacred destinations: Fare Hape. Crossing from Moorea to Tahiti by boat, we’ll then hop on an epic 4×4 jeep journey into the center of the island to spend the next two days at a secluded, ancient village hidden in the mountains and jungle. For thousands of years, Fare Hape has been virtually untouched by the western world, and the sacred Polynesian rituals and beliefs lie at the heart of Tahitian values. The day’s highlights center around understanding this 1,000s-year-old culture, including herbal healing, astronavigation, and simply building old-world houses from scratch. We’ll also introduce you to the local Haururu organization who invests and protects the island’s sacred grounds. While here, they’ll have you constructing Polynesian homes, planting medicinal herbs, cleaning the jungle, river damming, and essentially building the infrastructure for an entire irrigation system—high-level tasks for a volunteer…but you’re BamFam, so this shouldn’t be daunting.

Day 07: Fare Hape
Yesterday we learned about the jungle and today we’ll explore it. Wandering through like Tarzan and Jane, we’ll follow the sounds of the jungle, tracing animals, and veering towards the faint crashes in the distance. The crashes, of course, could only be one thing: Waterfalls. Who’s up for a swim? After a dip (and lunch), it’s back to Fare Hape to continue our projects. The houses ain’t going to build themselves.

Day 08: Fare Hape – Teahupoo
Bidding farewell to the local people of Fare Hape, we head off to the remote area of Teahupoo on the south-east coast of the island. On an island already coated in cunning coastlines, Teahupoo’s serenity and peacefulness is the only way to wrap-up an otherwise adventurous tour. Upon arrival, we’ll take you on another special boat tour. The gorgeous caves of Vaipori await, as well as island enclaves so remote they’ve rarely see any human exploration, making you, effectively, a modern day Magellan. Lunch will be cooked fresh from the boat deck, which features a view and then some. The day concludes with even more lounging and even more stunning sunsets and even more delicious meals and even more drinks…because that’s just life in this paradise.

Day 09: Teahupoo – Papeete
We’re taking off the Bamboo ball-and-chain and letting you into the wild world of Teahupoo this morning. Packed with one-of-a-kind nature, feel free to explore the surrounding waterfalls, go hiking, kayaking, or even just spend the morning sun-tanning along the waterfront. Just get back by early afternoon so we can shuttle you to Papeete, where we’ll gather for our final group meal and toast to Tahiti…on our private boat, of course. Meals included: Breakfast, Dinner
