This best Tibet biking tour explores the off the beaten track and the most remote area of the Tibetan plateau. having two full days sightseeing around Lhasa and visiting the most cultural center of Tibet including the Potala Palace and Jokang temple which are listed in the UNESCO of the world heritage site. In order to get better acclimatized for your cycling in Tibet, the third day in Lhasa, we will do a different activity of biking to Pabongka and do some hiking around the temple and Sera monastery.

Start your best Tibet biking tour from Lhasa city and cycling in the southern part of Tibet, known as Lhoka, passing by Barhmaputra, Do valley and some beautiful Tibetan villages and monasteries in the remoter area of southern Tibet. Cross Trila pass at the elevation of 4890m and make a wish where there is a prayer flag for a successful and safe mountain biking in Tibet. While you are cycling along the Yamdrok lake, you will enjoy a view of the most beautiful part of Yamdrok lake, the beautiful Kurla Gangri, which is over 7000Mts peak, bordered to Bhutan.

Ride across the Simi la pass, 4350mts, rest on the top of the pass and take photos. You will be biking via Gyantse and Shigatse, visiting the most important site of the western Tibet including Palchoe and Kubum and Tashi Lhunpo monastery. After crossing Tsola pass,4021Mts, you will turn left from the main friedship highway, heading to Sakya monastery and continue taking the extreme off the beaten track through Tinggye county and all the way to Rongpu monastery and Everest base camp via remoter mountain passes and villages.

Explore Everest base camp and another beautiful biking day from Rongpu monastery to old Dingri with a fantastic view of Jow Oyuk and Nampala pass. Tibet biking tour from Old Dingri to Thongla pass (5120m) and Cycling all the way down to Dzangmu border and continue to Kathmandu valley through high mountain passes, beautiful Himalayan mountain range and narrow gorges and water fall, dense forest and hill side villages.

Day 01 Fly to Gongkar and then transfer to Lhasa, 3650Mts/45Km.
You will be met our Tibetan guide and accompany to Lhasa city. There are 60Km from Gongkar airport to Lhasa and you will see yarlung Tsangpo ( the Bharma Putra ), Nyethang stone carved Buddha and Lhasa Kyicu river. Check in the hotel and free afternoon for acclimatization. Hotel

Day 02 Visit Potala Palace and Jokang temple and Bharkor.
In the whole morning, visit Potala Palace , the highest palace in the world. It is more than 3,700 meters above sea level. The Palace is dominated by golden roofs and from the top of the golden roofs, you can have a bird-eye view of the whole Lhasa city. In the distance are undulating mountain ranges, the beautiful Lhasa river, tracts of fields, tree-shaded villages and the glistening Jokhang Temple . Afternoon visit Jokhang Temple , first built temple during the period of Tibetan King Songtsan Gambo in the 7th century, features Buddhist prayer wheels, reclining deer, golden sutra streamers. You’ll find many Pilgrims pray in front of the temple. Then sightseeing or shopping at Barkhor Bazaar which is around the temple.

Day 03 Biking – Pabongka monastery
Visit Pabongka, down hill to Chubsang nunnery, visit nunnery and then to Sera monastery. Do Sera monastery Lingkor and have picnic lunch. Visit the monks debating and then back to Lhasa.

Day 04 Lhasa – Namgyel shol – Gyangshong village
Ride from Lhasa to Namgyel shol and then to Gyangshong village,3850Mts/120Km drive/25km bike ride.

After around 70Km drive from Lhasa, you will reach Chedeshol village. You will meet our crew with the bikes and all camping equipment. From Chedeshol village, you will turn left from the main road to Gongkar airport and start your biking. The village of Chedeshol itself is an old town and it is worthy to bike through the town to see how the old town of Tibetan looks like. There is also a monastery called Dopu Chokor monastery.

After Chedeshol you will bike through several beautiful villages and reach Namgyle shol town. You will have lunch before Namgyel shol village and then continue to Gyangshong village. The road for biking today is not very difficult as most part of the road is paved. You will pass by the Gyangshong reservoir and dam.

Day 05 Gyangshong via Trila pass, Drangda, Karmaling grassland
Ride from Gyangshong via Trila pass, Drangda, Karmaling grassland, Lhunpo Shol, Tarktso,4480Mts/95Km.
Early morning, enjoy your morning tea and breakfast and then start your biking through Drila pass which is around 4890mts above sea level. Today, the most part of the road is a dusty road and it is a steep up until you cross the pass through several zigzag road. You will reach the top of the pass after around 3 hours and half biking.

From the top of the pass, you will enjoy the most beautiful part of Yamdrok lake, the beautiful Kurla Gangri, which is over 7000Mts peak border to Bhutan. The beautiful prayer flag is waving and you can wish for the good luck of your journey and for all your family from the top of the pass. Ride down to Dangdha village, there is also a monastery called Dangdha monastery. Continue cycling in the Yamdrok valley and pass by Karmnaling grassland.

Day 06 Ride from Tarktso-Taglung-Karola glacier, Ralung monastery,4350Mts/85Km.
Riding within the beautiful villages of Yamdrok lake and a stunning view of Nojing Kangsang snow mountain in a distance, taking photos of the villages people who are indeed in Tibetan traditional dress being not influenced by the modern lives. You can really enjoy the beauty of Tibetan culture and their way of daily living resembled the one in the olden days. You will ride the bikes along the yamdrok lake with a fantastic view of the lake, some small islands and a long distant view of Noejing Kangsang snow capped mountain. You will pass by Taklung town and monastery. Taklung monastery is one of the oldest monastery in yamdrok area. Finally, you will be reaching Ralung monastery and camp nearby the monastery.

Day 07 Ride from Ralung to Gyantse, 3950Mts/90Km
Ride across the Simi la pass, 4350mts, rest on the top of the pass and take photos. You will be riding along a big reservoir and here is an important tip for our clients to pay attention on the road while you are riding along the reservoir since the road beside the reservoir is really narrow. First view of Gyangtse town and it’s fortress in the long distance. Gyangtse is one of the biggest farming lands in Tibet where people grow lots of barley, wheat, different kinds of vegetables.

Day 08 Ride from Gyantse to Shigatse, 3900mts/90Km
Ride from your hotel to Palchoe monastery which is just 5 minutes, Park all the bikes at the entry gate of the monastery while you are visiting the monastery. Our driver will take care of the bikes there. Palchoe monastery is one of the second largest monastery in the Tsang region and it has more than 700 hundred years history, built by local chieftain called Rabten Kunsang. Within the monastery, you will also visit Kubum stupa which is the largest stupa in the central Tibet , also built by Rebtan Kunsang. After sightseeing, ride continuously to Shigastse, the second largest city of Tibet .

Day 09 Ride from Shigatse to the foot of Tsola pass, 4021Mts/105Km.
Ride along the friendship highway and passing by many Tibetan villages and small monasteries on a hill side. The entire valley all the way from Shigatse to Lhatse are Tibetan farmers. Camp before crossing Tsola pass.

Day 10 Ride to Sakya monastery,4150Mts/70Km
You will be cycling to Sakya monastery at the distance of 45km with a very good road condition, crossing Tsola pass and several beautiful traditional Tibetan villages. Have lunch in Sakya and afternoon, visit Sakya monastery and walk around the town and hill near Sakay monastery.

Day 11 Sakya monastery to Nishar hot spring,4200Mts/ 78Km
Continue cycling towards Nyishar village and crossing a big mountain pass called Drila. From the top of the pass, you will have a fantastic view of Makalu, Lhotse and Everest. Enjoying biking down the pass with viewing great Himalayan mountain range.

Day 12 Ride from Nishar to Tsogo,4200Mts,75Km
Enjoy biking off the beaten trail and get the ultimate experience of the great Himalayan mountain biking tour. If the weather is very nice, you will have a fantastic view of the Mount Everest in the distance. The road condition for today is a small dusty countryside road.

Day 13 Ride from Tsogo to Trelung-Shi, 3950Mts/ 76Km
You will follow the old trail where local people used to travel with their horse and donkeys in the olden days but nowadays, they take the motor road instead of this. You will cross another big pass which is over 5000m above sea level. You will be cycling down the valley and little bit of up the valley. The scenery is similar to the previous day where you are biking on the Himalayan plateau.

Day 14 Shi toTashizom-Choezom-Everest Rongbuk monastery,5000Mts/70Km.
Ride from Shi toTashizom-Choezom-Everest Rongbuk monastery,5000Mts/70Km.
Following the motor road from Tsa to Tashizom which is the road to go to Kartha valley and Kangshung face and you will reach Tashizom which is one of the biggest villages on the way to Everest Base Camp. Continue biking towards Mount Everest Base Camp. You will avoid the motor road to Everest Base Camp and follow the river valley and get to Rongpu monastery.

Day 15 Explore EBC & back to Rongpu monastery (5000m/16km)
Morning, ride to Everest Base camp at the distance of 8Km from Rongbuk. Take group photos with bikes at the Everest Base camp and enjoy the most attractive view of mount Everest. Return to Rongbuk monastery and over night at Rongbuk.

Day 16 Rongbuk monastery – Old Dingri,4390mts, 70Km.
Ride across another Pangla pass,5000mts and descend down in the valley and get to Old Dingri. Old Dingri is one of the popular places to stop a night in order to view mount Everest for tourists especially for those who are unable to go to Mount Everest because of altitude problem.

Day 17 Old Dingri to Thongla pass -Cycling to Dzangmu border
Drive from old Dingri to Thongla pass (5120m)-Cycling to Dzangmu border, 2500Mts/80Km.

Driving along the friendship highway around 100km by vehicle to Thongla pass. From the top of the Thongla pass, you will enjoy your final great view of the Himalayan mountain range including Shisha Bangma and Labchigang. From Thongla pass, cycling down the valley with a very good paved road all the way to Dzangmu, passing some Tibetan villages and Mila Repa cave, beautiful dense forest gorge and beautiful stream water.

Day 18 Dzangmu – Friendship bridge-Kathmandu ,1500mts, 128Km.
Cycling down to Friendship bridge at the distance of 8km, do the necessary paper work at China custom and Nepal immigration. Riding through a narrow gorge, passing villages on the hill side and Barabisi town and finally reach Kathmandu valley.
