The starting point of sunkoshi trips is Dolalght about 3 hours (60km) Drive east of Kathmandu on the road to the Chinese Border. From there you are out of touch with civilization for eight to ten days for the sunkoshi runs through a region devoid of roads or towns. Sunkoshi River means ‘River of Gold’ is considered one of the ten best rafting/kayaking rivers in the world. Sunkoshi is termed as an unpredictable river. It has its own moods: serene and tranquil one moment; wild and turbulent the next. It is always changing, challenging, and the ultimate in the river adventure.

Sunkosi is the longest river trip in Nepal traversing 270 km in length through the beautiful Mahabharata range. The river begins its journey slowly allow the rafter to gain a feel for its ways. As the river progresses through fantastic scenery and quite fine village, its intensity picks up and boast some of the biggest waves seen on raft able rivers. This trip is listed as one of the world’s top ten classic river journeys.

Day 01: Kathmandu – Dolalghat
Early in the morning we drive from Kathmandu to Dolalghat 60km it takes three hours, rafting starting point at Dolalghat.and sort raft Dolalghat to tarang Gaon.

Day 02: Tarang Gaon to Dumja village (4 hours)
Sunkoshi is considered as a Holy river by the Nepalese Hindus, the river flows into the Holy Ganges in India, soon we hit the very technical rapid called Khuei Bhai rapid, strewn with rocks and boulders, hence, considerable care is need. Camp for the night near the Mahadev temple, reputed to be the first Shiva temple in Nepal.

Day 03: Dumja village to Khunkot (6 hours)
we are hitting the rapids passing enroute the fishing village of Kodaris’ and the Chamera Bhir were you see hundreds of bats screaming and clinging to the walls of the cliffs, some good fun filled rapids takes up to Khunkot where we camp for the night.

Day 04: Khurkot to Likhu Khola (5 hours)
Habitations dwindle, few poor “Rai villages” enroute, exciting rapids in the afternoon with good photo prospects

Day 05: Likhu Khola to Harkapur village (6 hours)
Today, we pass through deep gorges punctuated with exciting rapids unfolding pleasant floats in the afternoon troops of Langur and Rhesus monkeys can be seen romping the riverbanks.

Day 06: Harkapur village to Rai Ghat (6 hours)
Today is one of the most exciting and challenging days of the expedition encountering some very demanding rapids where you witness the skills of our guides, we pass through ‘Bridge rapids’ and ‘Krishna rapids’ stopping to carefully plan our strategy through the next rapids.

Day 07: Rai Ghat to Bander Ghat (6 hours)
Hold tight, the ride is not over yet. As past the point of Sap Su Khola is a rapid with the greatest drop Huge ‘holes’, ‘eddies’ and churning ‘stopper waves’ demands team work and hard paddle.

Day 08: Bander Ghat to Bonjur Ghat (7 hours)
We take to the rapids again, busy all morning earnestly thanking for the lunch break, emerging from the Mardheku gorge the river spreads wide, less agitated after its confinement between steep cliffs and gorges.

Day 09: Bonjur Ghat to Barahchhatra (6 hours)
Today the whole stretch is a mixture of fun filled rapids and calm undulating floats, you are somewhat relived, yet sad that the trip is coming to an end, all good things ultimately does.

Day 10: Biratnagar – Kathmandu By Flight
Short rafting reaches out points Chatara, after lunch drive to Biratnagar to take a flight back to Kathmandu.
On arrival, transfer to the hotel.

Day 11: Depart Kathmandu
After breakfast, transfer to airport for flight to onward destination.

– Transportation from / to Kathmandu by tourist bus as per itinerary.
– All International standard rafting equipment as necessary (Such as self bailing rafts, helmets, life jackets, kayaks, plastic paddles and spray jackets etc.)

– Camping & Cooking equipment (tents, mattress & kitchen gear).

– Rescue & insurance such as travel, cancellation, accident, health, emergency evacuation and loss.
– Nepal Visa.

– Accommodation in good hotels.
– Check-in / out time is 12 noon at most of the hotels.
– Extension to other places is also possible with a minimal extra cost.
– Additional nights are available at each place with minimal supplement.
– A visa is required and must be obtained prior to your departure from your Country.
– If quoted hotel is not available, we will provide one of a similar category and standard.
– Small deviations in the tour program are sometimes necessary, depending on weather, road conditions, flight schedules and room availability.
– In case the government changes presently applicable taxes, increase in airlines prices, fuel surcharge our rates will need to be adjusted accordingly.
– Sometimes, there is no relevance between the distance and time of travelling, as it depends upon the condition of the roads and congestion of the traffic.
– While every effort will be made to maintain the itinerary, in view of local strikes etc that are beyond our control all schedule and itineraries are subject to last moment changes.
– Clients must be fully insured, as the company cannot accept liability for loss or damage to client’s property, medical emergencies or any other loss suffered by them whilst on tour.
– In Case of issuing Domestic or International air tickets, SGV is not responsible for any refund if the flight is delayed or cancelled, as it is the responsibility of airline.
